📄 Procedure for Changing Nomination in LIC Policy

What is a Nomination?
A nomination is the process by which a policyholder identifies a person (nominee) to receive the policy proceeds in the event of the policyholder’s death during the policy term. The nominee is usually a close family member.

🔹 When and How Can Nomination Be Done?

✅ A policyholder can make a nomination:

• 📝 At the time of taking the policy – by filling in the nominee’s details in the proposal form
• 📌 Or at any time later – by giving notice to LIC in the prescribed format

🔄 Process to Change Nomination in LIC Policy

A policyholder can change the nominee any number of times during the policy term. To change the nomination:

• 📄 Submit Form 3750 (Nomination form) to the LIC office
• 🔁 The new nomination will be endorsed on the policy bond
• 🚫 The existing nominee does not need to be informed or consent

The change of nomination becomes effective once the endorsement is made by LIC on the policy document.
